JobHunter VoicesTiny changes that improve the quality of hiring, job searching, and application transparency

A listening project by JobHunter. We collect real stories about job search frustrations and ideas for making hiring more human.

About Voices

We know how exhausting the job hunt can be—the automated rejections, the silent ghosting, and the broken processes that leave you feeling like just another number. JobHunter Voices is our listening initiative. We’ve created a safe space—like a private diary—where you can openly share your frustrations, what felt unfair, and what you wish employers would understand.

We aren’t just another faceless HR tool; we are real people working to fix a broken system, and every big change starts by listening to your specific story. This October, there are no sterile surveys or multiple-choice boxes. Just a place for your raw, honest words, at your own pace.

How It Works

  1. Read the introduction — understand the purpose and tone.
  2. Feel the context — acknowledge that your frustration, anger, or quiet sadness is valid.
  3. Write your entry — fill in the diary-style form with your experience. You can write as much as you like.
  4. Seal & send — submit your words. They join hundreds of others being gathered this month.

What We Collect

The submission form includes the following fields:

  • Your name — required
  • Email — required, used only for follow-up if you consent
  • Current situation — student, job seeker, employed, unemployed, freelancer, or other (required)
  • Social handle or profile link — optional
  • Anonymous preference — toggle to strip personal identifiers
  • Diary entry — your written experience, up to 5,000 characters

Privacy & Anonymity

Your privacy matters. When you enable “Keep me anonymous,” your real name, email, and social handle are kept strictly confidential. The data is still collected securely, but it will be completely masked from anyone.

All submissions are stored securely. Individual entries are never published or shared publicly without explicit consent. Aggregated, anonymised insights may be shared in public reports to advocate for better hiring practices.

How Your Story Helps

Submissions are analysed to identify patterns in hiring frustrations, ghosting, opaque rejection, unreasonable requirements, broken processes. These insights drive:

  • Product improvements on the JobHunter platform
  • Public reports and advocacy for hiring transparency
  • Community discussions about what “good hiring” looks like
