JobHunter Voices — Tiny changes that improve the quality of hiring, job searching, and application transparency
A monthly listening project by JobHunter. We collect real stories about job search frustrations and ideas for making hiring more human.
About This Campaign
Every big fix starts as someone’s small, specific frustration. JobHunter Voices is a campaign that creates a safe space — like a diary — where job seekers, students, freelancers, and employed professionals can share what went wrong during hiring, what felt unfair, and what they would change.
The October edition focuses on collecting raw, honest experiences. No surveys, no multiple-choice boxes — just your words, at your own pace.
How It Works
- Read the introduction — understand the campaign’s purpose and tone.
- Feel the context — acknowledge that your frustration, anger, or quiet sadness is valid.
- Write your entry — fill in the diary-style form with your experience. You can write as much or as little as you like.
- Seal & send — submit your words. They join hundreds of others being gathered this month.
What We Collect
The submission form includes the following fields:
- Your name — required unless submitting anonymously
- Email — optional, used only for follow-up if you consent
- Current situation — student, job seeker, employed, unemployed, freelancer, or other (optional)
- Social handle or profile link — optional
- Anonymous preference — toggle to strip personal identifiers from your submission
- Diary entry — your written experience, up to 5,000 characters
Privacy & Anonymity
Your privacy matters. When you enable “Keep me anonymous,” your name, email, and social handle are stripped from the submission before storage. Only your situation and diary entry are kept.
All submissions are stored securely. Individual entries are never published or shared publicly without explicit consent. Aggregated, anonymised insights may be shared in public reports to advocate for better hiring practices.
How Your Story Helps
Submissions are analysed to identify patterns in hiring frustrations — ghosting, opaque rejection, unreasonable requirements, broken processes. These insights drive:
- Product improvements on the JobHunter platform
- Public reports and advocacy for hiring transparency
- Community discussions about what “good hiring” looks like
